Even if you live close to the ocean or are visiting a place on the beach, you might still yearn to do something that isn’t on the water. When in Delray Beach Florida and boating and sunbathing just won’t do, expand your horizons and give the Delray Beach Art District a try instead. You will be very happy that you did.
The Art District in Delray Beach is comprised of several art galleries and arts and crafts shops that are all located in a specific area of downtown. The downtown space in the city is thriving as more people desire to move into the neighborhood. As more people move in, more shops open up, including several that have an art theme.
Many annual events are held in the Art District, some of which attract people from miles away, including lots of tourists. However, there is a monthly event that is held not only for tourists, but for the locals as well. It is called the Delray Beach Art Walk, and it is a fun way to experience some art and culture that is free and open to the public.
The Art District is very near the ocean, so of course many of the pieces of art in the galleries that comprise the Art Walk feature a sea or nautical theme. There are many other themes to explore too. All you have to do to see them is come down to the District every first Friday of the month from 6:00 p. M. Until 9:00 p. M. To see what the local artisans and art gallery owners have on display. Peruse, buy and take in the thriving local scene.
Not only do you get to enjoy dozens of artists and their wares, but you can get some shopping done as well. An original piece by a local artisan makes a stunning and unique gift for many occasions. Birthdays and Christmas are a great time to give these gifts, but you could also use them for wedding presents and as a housewarming gift as well.
No painting is quite complete without a suitable frame to make it really pop on your wall. While some galleries may offer framing, many do not. That is no problem, since the District is home to a professional and reputable custom framing shop. Choose from many materials and finishes to bring out the color in your chosen print, so it can really shine and be something you are proud to show off or gift.
While you are in the area, there are plenty of other attractions as well. You can get a bite to eat at one of the many gourmet restaurants that line the District. There are also other shops to see and the oceanfront is nearby in case you want to see the sun set as you visit each artist.
You can go alone to the Art Walk, but taking someone with you is a great way to share the experience. Whether it is friends you want to catch up with or a date night, this is a great way to share a fun and cultural experience that really captures what Delray Beach is all about.
